Over Christmas break, I had my sister and brother-in-law staying visiting from London.
They wanted sunshine and they wanted beaches so we spent a day trying out DecoBike, Miami’s new bicycle sharing program.
Using the website or their iPhone app, find one of the 100 stations dotted all over the island. To rent the bike, you just swipe your credit card and follow the instructions on the display. Once you pay for the hour limit you need, you can unhook the bike from its lil’ station. You can check the bike back in to any other station, and your credit card acts like a pass for the day.
We started at South Pointe park and rode north alongside the ocean. It’s paved from 5th ave through Lummus park to past 17th st. We went inland at that point, to stroll along Linccoln road. We checked the bikes back in and had a delicious lunch at Shake Shack on Lincoln and Alton. Those New Yorkers know their burgers!
