Rebecca would be amazed and humbled by the recognition. She had so much respect for the team: the professional and loving way it was run, the sportsmanship and openness of the players, and the fun and belonging we felt during practices and games. <br \/>Being the daughters of a celebrated player for Celbridge GAA and Dublin Minors, we grew up around the community, the athletes and our Dad’s many, many trophies. It was an unprecedented treat to come to the sport in my 30s, and have my little sister on my team. We did win a trophy or 2 with our beloved Thai GAA Junior side, giving the Dowling GAA new life in Asia. <br \/>But this award, which will live on in her name, is so special. I am looking forward to meeting Con one day, by all accounts he and Becks would have been great mates! <br \/>Thank you John, Ger and Niall for recognizing that a team is made from so much more than great skill – it takes great love and commitment as well.
